The Compulsion of Writing

I know that there are many of you out there. You want to write, but you need someone to read your endless mind clutter that you've set down on paper.
You're an author waiting to happen. Don't wait any longer.

"Time is but the stream I go 'a fishing in..."
Henry David Thoreau, didn't even make it into his thirties but accomplished enough through his writing to make him timeless.
Join in. Read what I post, and share your thoughts as well as your mind clutter, too.

  1. I think the stumbling block for many is the not knowing what to do with the writing once it is finished. There are so many out lets available these days that it is almost overwhelming trying to decide where to submit and follow the acceptable guidelines for each venue. Do you have any suggestions of how to overcome this hurdle?

  2. Erin, you're right. There are so many places to submit, sometimes it's almost enough to make you dizzy.
The first rule though, finish a story before you anticipate selling it.
I know that some writers produce on 'spec' but they are the ones with the proven track record, etc.
A beginning writer who wants to become a published author can start out by posting short pieces on public forums...like here.
